This is my homecoming story. The songs here were written during a turbulent but inspiring period—the first months after coming out. Most were written in a day or two, in raw, unfolding moments. The result is a collection of snapshots capturing the energy and self-discovery of that time. Wherever you are in your own journey of self-love, I hope they speak to you.
The Homecoming Zine
I grew up with physical music. Some of my best memories involve purchasing a new cassette or CD at the store, getting home, tearing off the plastic, peeling off that annoying label, and studying the artwork and the lyrics while listening to the album. So when it came time to release the Homecoming EP I knew I wanted to make something physical. And rather than manufacturing CDs that wouldn’t get played or spending money I don’t have on pressing vinyl, I decided on the next best thing - a zine!
The Homecoming Zine is a 5.5” x 8.5” booklet containing 20 pages of original artwork, stories, lyrics, and photos - everything you would find in a CD booklet. Each track features a beautiful linocut piece embodying the spirit of the song, done by my good friend Andy Sutton. This record is so meaningful to me, and it is my hope that as you stream from wherever you listen to music, you can tap into the deeper energy and narrative through reading the zine.
